I would just state beforehand that I would not swear on a bible or use god in any oath. (That includes the Pledge, I skip "under god" ). I will state, "So help me." or "I so swear." or whatever they want, But a god, or even satan (tho this is a funny) would not be part of it!

I would have just ended it with “So help me, Satan.”

I wonder if its unconstitutional to force someone to swear by the bible?

MrChange Level 7 July 17, 2018

I don't think it is required.

You can't force anyone to swear on any religious book or "so help me Gawd".

I swore an oath in court by just promising to tell the truth. I had indicated I did not believe in the bible. Your mileage may vary depending on where you live

@Science-guy thanks.
