I may have phrased it differently, but the sentiment is right on! No half measures, if it must be done, quick & dirty...advice from a guy who's just 5'6"!

Never bring a knife to a gun fight.
If I have to fight, I prefer my opponents to be tied up and probably unconscious. I wouldn't turn down air support and a field artillery brigade either.
