@Rudy1962 Don't get me wrong; I'm glad he found a way to avoid the draft, as I did back then. My draft-dodge was going to college for becoming an educator; that gave me II-S status....or "essential to democracy - student" . I probably could have gone the "trick knee" or "fake doc diagnosis" but the rich kids did that...us ordinary folk had to find legitimate ways to avoid serving....and many of my friends were with me. Here's an image of a friend who boldly went and served....very proud to have known him....
