Yep, at our last big huge family reunion, not only was I the only atheist, but I was also vegetarian at the time. (The reunion took place on the family farm in Nebraska which grows feed corn for the cattle industry.) So, I was excused from the big family church service, and they offered me chicken nuggets, since I was vegetarian. I guess they didn't consider chicken to be meat. At the time, it was noted that I was different, but I was embraced at the same time. (Very different than my former in-laws, who were not so welcoming to me.)

When I go to my family reunions, I am the only one that was not raised Catholic, so they have been used to not asking me about religion. I do enjoy the cooking though, since I had to learn cajun cooking late in life.
