When I entered the working world beyond baby sitting it was in the fast food joints or as a cashier all within the radius that my mom was willing to drive me to. Even when I got my own car I was still in high school, didn't want to be driving very far after the joint closed at 10 or 11p.
Within the span of 3 years I had something like 7 different jobs. I quit 4 of them because of unwanted touching, nasty comments and or not feeling safe.

Yep, it's the same world, but with more awareness and support for speaking up about it. The same kind of stuff went on whether in the cold storage room by an assistant manager at a fast food restaurant to a stock room in a bank with an branch executive. It was everywhere in those days. Nowadays, fewer guys get away with it, because the strength of women and loved ones who support those women.
@Julie808 Thing was back in the early 1970s there was no one I could talk to about it. I sure was not going to go whining to my parents. Thing was it made me appear like I was irrisponsible. Was I ever so glad to get 3,000 miles away from from where I grew up and out on my own.
Same issues on the job but no one judging me when I quit. Now the jobs I cared about I found ways to deal with the assholes, wasn't gonna let some jerk run me off from a job I enjoyed!
