I’ve felt like always managed to find either the right person in the wrong location or the wrong person in the right location. I also concider that none of the good things in my life were planned and none of those things would have happened if what I thaught I wanted had actually worked out. I’ve reached the point of being a spectator in my own life and no longer pretend that I can predict the future... the root of all upset is thwarted expectations... expectation is what I desire to let go of daily that I may simply watch life unfold, and be happy

@BeeHappy I have several complicated answers to that... The girl I date has a chronic illness that will in all liklyhood have no cure, so I help her as much as I can, it’s terminal so I’m taking life one day at a time. We never said we were serious but I’m not going to walk away when it would hurt her most and I honestly have not figured out if I would want to or not things being different... little in common but the little can be enough.
@ArdentAtheist, sorry Steve. Sounds like you are a caregiver - your mom & friend plus raising kids. It's noble. Don't forget yourself! ?
@BeeHappy Thank you... One can easily get overwhelmed… This is why I put so much emphasis on being present in the present moment… This moment is all we have, The past doesn’t exist and the future is out of our control and that’s OK.
