I am a long time member of this institution and have read the fascinating article. All too often we denigrate or even deny the existence of previous human inhabitants. Even here in this archipelago more and more we are recognizing the indigenous people's. My neighbor is the founder and head of a local group known as Kwiaht [kwiaht.org] I just read a lecture recap he made of the history of previous inhabitants titled :"The Land We Stand ON." 100,000 (or what ever)years from now, wonder what people will think about the, mostly hand prints, in cement sidewalks? Could that be analyzed to give any interesting data 100,000 years from now?
