I’d like to take this opportunity today to remember a native Hawaiian singer who sadly died at the early age of 38 on June 26th 1997. He came to fame internationally with his 1993 album Facing Future which included his hit cover version of Over The Rainbow - Israel Ka’ano’i Kamakawiwo’ole or just plain IZ as he was affectionately known.

Yes…greatly missed.
The song usually bores me, but he did a really good job of it.
