4 spectacular, male rose breasted grosbeaks on the burr oak right outside my window. Not more than 6 feet away.They are waiting for the squirrel to get its fill on the sunflower feeder. They have come along way to this rest stop. Some even nest here....

We have red-rumped swallows nesting on our porch. They return every year. Sometimes the nest can be reused and sometimes it breaks and falls during the winter so they build a new one. This year they are rebuilding, but there seem to be three birds...

For the past several years I have had a pair of tree swallows nesting in a bluebird box on the edge of a field. I don't know if it's the same pair year after year, but I sure enjoy seeing them.
