A pair of Goldfinches are enjoying themselves eating up the pests on my sunflowers this morning.

Daddy bluebird feeding one of his fledglings. I especially like the grossness of the photo where he whips the guts out of the caterpillar. I didn't notice that until I was reviewing the photos.

I spent a week in Monterey, CA and went whale watching. We spotted a puffin, which the crew said was pretty rare to see that far south. I wish I’d gotten a picture.

A couple of very cooperative barred owls that I encountered yesterday in Weiser State Forest.

Mourning Doves are the most common bird who visit us. They are incredibly skiddish and very hard to sneak up on. I was in my tent/blind to get this shot. Up close they are pretty birds. My favorite thing about them is how they sound like their wings ...
