Rescue gone wrong. The tag line on the litter should have prevented the spinning.

"Climbers" dying on Everest while waiting in line. Forget the peace and solitude of wide open spaces. This is supposedly the pinnacle of mountaineering experiences. You couldn't pay me enough to go. Does this look like fun to you?

Wind chill here was single digits, still I got building supplies first thing. Then I decided it was too cold, and went for a hike instead. Apple Orchard Falls had some ice on it.

I thought about updating the intro photo with one from some random post here. That wouldn't be polite without getting permission first though.

For east coasters, or those willing to travel, Would there be interest in a Sunday-after-thanksgiving, burn off the extra calories hike? Location TBD, but the closer to me (roughly Roanoke VA) the better. ?

Big Rocky Row hike on the AT in the fog and drizzle today. About 8 miles round-trip. 2600 ft elevation gain. Steep and great colors. I only got to take one photo before my camera battery went out. Leaves are still on trees here. Won't last long.

Years ago route information was scarce and hard to count on. Today it is all compiled at The Mountain Project. There is also a section for seeking partners.
