IMF Warns US of 'Macroeconomic Impact' of Trade Policy Changes
(The U.S. economy is being juiced by the administration’s $1.5 trillion package of corporate and income tax cuts as well as higher government spending.)
(It noted that the U.S. government’s tax and spending policies during a time when the economy is already experiencing strong growth and low unemployment “increases the range and size of future risks” including higher public debt and the greater likelihood of a recession.)
Who to believe? While most economist claim we have experienced the slowest rebound from a recession since 2008 in some time, the IMF claims we have strong growth. And we're really doing a Brownie, heck of a job, turn around on unemployment!?! I will argue that the unemployment rate right now was due to a mild winter in the north where I witnessed many seasonal, spring and summer, jobs kicking off quite earlier than usual. In my area which is going through some major road rebuilding on interstates in which would not have been able during our usual winters. And by all accounts, jobs being produced today are not paying as well as those who have lost good paying jobs. We had 2 factories in Canton shut down alone last winter at Christmas time in which I'm fairly certain they aren't able to find other factories for all of them paying near what they were making. I will also argue this trade tax is merely a means for corporations, on all parts, to scam us out of more of our money. Everything this touches will mean more out of our pockets for everyone around the globe. It is essentially a manufactured global inflation hike to benefit them, not us.
