When you just don't get it. Those "oppressive regimes" she's talking about were once the only thing keeping the radicals in a measure of check. Especially in regards to Iraq, Libya, and Syria. Outside of Afghanistan, those 3 countries were about as westernized and functioning well on their own, to a degree. To a degree you might ask? Westernized? The westernized countries for decades managed to meddle and influence warring and corruption within these countries. When you compare our own societies to that of theirs before we turned them to rubble, they had pretty much the same amount of opportunities as a society as ours do. Outside of Iraq that had fallen from the good graces of the US after the Iran Iraq war. Yet still good education and healthcare. When I read that, my mind wanders to our own since of oppression, many here can't see. Is that not also a sense of oppression? I don't find that to be any more proper towards standards or principles for the better or righteousness of society. And for that illusion they have engulfed us in to dumb down our society has provided the very atmosphere in those countries we were to be fighting against.
