A Candidate Doesn’t Deserve Our Trust If They’re Not An Anti-Imperialist
I'm embarrassed to admit I'm also guilty of not seeing it in Sanders. It haunts me regularly.
This system is so inherently favored towards the wealthy imperialists that it's hard to have any type of hope in seeing any type of change.....ever. That is unless the entire capitalist system collapses. That will be a horrible time for all involved before something else can take it's place. Hopefully that too isn't manipulated by those with power, but it seems very human throughout our entire history that there is no avoiding it.
Here's what I know. America is not capitalist without competition and we are fast getting to where there is no competition.
We passed that point long ago.. There hasn't been competition in a long time.
When has there ever really been competition? Competition among billionaires maybe lol. America has always been capitalist. A capitalist system benefits those who have the wealth to own the means of production and profit. That's not us. That's not the majority of people. What kind of ownership and capital do we have that influences society? None. Some will say purchasing power is what we have, but that means nothing when corporations can manipulate markets, which they do and always have. There is no free market. Governments and corporations have always interfered with "free markets".
When I say wealthy, I don't mean small business owners or even someone with a million in the bank either. I'm talking about people who influence industries and societal policy. America was always capitalist. The thing inherent to capitalism is that it's skewed to those who already have wealth. That's how they've always wanted it and that's how it's always been. Those who have always had it will always have it. The American Dream is a ruse. Most people are destined to work for someone else. Even the ones that don't aren't in the same class of the capitalists at the top. The system is inherently flawed towards those with wealth. They set up the system. It was started by merchant and banking families in Europe. Not poor people. Capitalism is closer to indentured servitude. The thing is that the people with wealth and power have devised a marketing campaign that has "evolved" capitalism and has the slaves thinking they can become the masters.
