OCCUPY, RESIST, PRODUCE: INSIDE THE SELF-MANAGED FACTORY OF VIO.ME.
Thessaloniki, Greece – Workers have successfully self-managed the production of environmentally-friendly cleaning products for the last six years in the occupied factory Vio.Me. There are no bosses in this factory on the east side of Thessaloniki, Greece’s second largest city. Workers have been in full control since occupying the factory in 2013, two years after the workers had stopped receiving paychecks from the business due to the parent company having filed for bankruptcy.
In the world according to William. When corporations fail to produce a profit to pay their workers due to over inflated CEO salaries, market manipulation, sellouts towards monopolies, that company should be confiscated and handed over to the employees to run. I'm fairly certain that the company has people within that can run the company more efficient, and has capable office personal who know how the company operates. In which all outside business interactions and clients remain within rights and resources of the now occupying employee owned company. This would put a whole new face on how the ruling class might begin to redevelop their views on the means of production.
