Such opinion-based journalism is typical in that it fails to provide a shred of evidence to support its claims, and it has all the hallmarks of having been written by someone who has never stepped foot in the UK.
The 'scandal' is as much the making of those who emigrated to the UK but did not bother to apply for British citizenship, which would have prevented the problems faced when leaving the UK, without having gained citizenship status.

Brexit has not divided the nation; it's on par with saying that the Republican and Democrat parties have divided the USA. The real scandal of Brexit is that Parliament has thwarted the leaving process, because the majority of MPs want to remain, this despite the fact that these very MPs stood on a manifesto supporting Brexit and voted to imolement and trigger Article 50.

The recent landslide victory of the Brexit Party in the EU elections is testament to the fact that the majority of people still want Brexit, despite May (and Parliament) doing everything in their power to halt it. Over three years after these MPs had triggered Article 50, it is clear that they are still intent upon subverting the will of the people, and they have failed to grasp that most of them will lose their seats to prospective parliamentary candidates that the Brexit Party have intentions of fielding in the next general election.

As for Russo-Anglo relations, Russia has never been at peace with the West since World War II. Their supreme arrogance in ineptly poisoning dissidents on UK soil, and using a nerve agent that demonstrably could have only come from them, is proof that they have no regard for diplomatic relations; their aim was to show to any dissidents to Putin that they were not safe from state-sanctioned murder anywhere in the world.

If anything, the UK response to these attempted murders was muted to the point of showing complete weakness in the face of such provocation of British sovereignty, which was tantamount to being a hostile act of aggression that merited a recall of dipomatic staff, not just an increase in sanctions.
