This behavior is not limited to Australia, the republican party in US is just one big cluster-fuck!
I will correct my post. Have you seen the lates tbat I posted last night featuriing tbe Australian Water Rats and poisonous feral Cane Toads?
@FrayedBear No, have been traveling the Pacific northwest and dealing with spotty wifi, so what group did you use and I'll check it out.
@SiouxcitySue That sounds beautiful. Are you in the mobile home?
I've just returned from a 4 week 3800 klm trip in a trianglular journey - hypoteneuse to NSW Blue Mountains, short side to south eastern tip of Australia, base across Victoria - all with bits of detours off line. One of the highlights was a 120 klm stretch where 2 cars and one mbike all travelling in the opposite direction was the only other traffic. 69 klms of it was through dense forest on a corrugated dirt rouad twisting every 50 - 100 metres, up hill & down valley.
That day was 760 klms long and inspite of the last 90 minutes being in the dark in torrential rain and an oncoming gale, I was only 15 minutes over my eta given 12 hours before starting on the road! I got a wealth of photos. Can't wait for my next one!
This is the other post : "The wonderful adaptability of the Australian Water Rat another of the fauna emulated by politicians."
@FrayedBear My brother and I travel together in the summer to escape the Phoenix, Arizona heat. We traveled 5000 miles in 7 weeks, from Arizona thru Colorado, Utah, Idaho, just a couple of days in southern Canada, Oregon, California and Nevada, ending up 4 nights at the Grand Canyon. We were on paved roads 90% of the time but since trump is pulling funds from all departments to build his wall and create his space force, the Interstate Hiways in the western US are almost like driving dirt roads. After five years of this type of travel, we decided that we would limit our daily mileage to a max of 300, just because it is exhausting. Where you had long expanses of no other traffic, we are in traffic-especially semi trucking- for most of the day. Apparently, the new single requirement for obtaining a driving license in the US is: Breathing. Otherwise, there is no requirement to know or follow the rules of the road. All in all,, it' better than sitting in 110+ degree temps for the summer.
@SiouxcitySue Sad on breathing requirement & volume of trucks. The latter being a reason for travelling on C roads. Our population is only about 1/10 of yours.
