Well, I have brought this issue up a number of times. The democrats will not speak of this simply because they are compliant to the destruction of democracy. Especially with their own involvement of stabbing democracy in the back in 2016. If you didn't have your head buried in the sand of media perception management in 2016 there's no other way to have missed it!

What if I told you we were never really a country about democracy? Democracy for the commons has always been at odds to power and wealth. In the beginning the senate was made up of the positioned wealthy by state legislatures who feared the taking of land. It wasn't until 1913 senators were placed by popular vote.
