Lee Camp: They’re Going to Try to Steal California From Sanders (Again)

Californians should be forewarned that if they want to vote for someone outside the centrists — say, Bernie Sanders — they need to change their party affiliation to either Democrat or No Party Preference. But it gets even worse, writes Lee Camp.

I posted another article on this a while back, I believe it was a Consortium article, anyways, here's a reminder from Lee Camp.

As I begrudgingly attempt to make a point to a commenter on another voting thread to no avail, here is the very type of discrepancy I can't get through to this person. The people at the precincts don't always have your concern at heart. Often managed/instructed to deceive you. At times they are to scared to mention wrong doings or even question what they see.

{I’m not kidding. This is from the official Election Officer Training Manual page 49:

“A No Party Preference voter will need to request a crossover ballot from the Roster Index Officer. (Do not offer them a crossover ballot if they do not ask).”

They’re not kidding. Poll worker Jeff Lewis filed a description of the training in an official declaration to a federal court:

Someone raised their hand and asked a follow-up question: So, what if someone gets a nonpartisan ballot, notices it doesn’t have the presidential candidates on it, and asks you where they are?’ The answer poll workers are instructed to give: Sorry, NPP ballots don’t have presidential candidates on them.’ That’s correct: even when people ask questions of that nature, obviously intending to vote with a party.}

And yes, as the last post within the Abby Martin and Greg Palast discussion went, that's both parties doing this! They (even the democrats) would rather lose you in the general to keep the current system afloat for their oligarch owners. The results, no matter who wins, they all remain unharmed in which their lives will continue to be the same while the bottom continues to fall out from under us and those around us. They would rather have Trump win again than allow your vote to change the structure of the country. Democracy has always been at odds with those who hold the power and wealth.
