Thanks for the post. Too many think bottled water is superior and often it is not. Years ago some research showed that a local 'spring water' provider had his 'spring' near to a chemical company that was dumping their waste in an old well. Some of those toxins were leaching into the spring. When you buy bottled water you have no idea where the water comes from.
I have a well which has iron (which can be filtered out with a paper filter and it is very hard. Fine for drinking but leaves a deposit. I then installed a rainwater harvesting system. It has a 5 micron pre-filter, a activated charcoal filter and a UV sterilizer. I am also looking into a ozone generator to keep the tanks clean and purify the water. In Europe ozone is used instead of chlorine to clean the water. The water from my tap is as pure and clean as one could hope and no chemicals necessary.

I have several Hydroflasks, and other water bottles/glasses. I haven't used a bottle of water in ages.

When we went to Viet Nam we were worried about the water. Everywhere we went bottles of water were handed out like candy. We saw most of those bottles on the streets and waterways. There is a battery held easy device that uses UV to sterilize glasses of water. It's called a steri-pen [freshwatersystems.com]
