I meet his gaze...and he reaches for me. He strokes my face, holding my chin in his hand. He raises my chin and looks straight into my eyes. Then kisses me, warm lips on mine... divinely sensual and tender. His gaze does not waiver as he kisses me. The passion he has for me is apparent.

That look is intense, filled with emotion. I force myself to get back to my task at hand. I need to get my day started as I know these college students will be racing through that door before I know it. As I organize my lessons, I turn and he's there... so close that it takes my breath away.

Extroverts get all the attention. Sometimes I get envious.

Meh. It's not worth being envious over. If it really bothers you try some exercises to change either by excepting others as they are, yourself as you are, or practice techniques that help you become extroverted in certain situations that you want to change.

@ownworstenemy I too will become disoriented while performing my job. I'm a counselor and facilitate group therapy sessions. I accept that it is part of me and point it out, almost make fun of me, as I feel that discomfort. Just bringing it out in the open helps me to regroup and be ok.

@zephr Oh my goodness. Emotions, including anger, are telling us something. Anger is most definitely about boundaries being violated. And that is a rightful reason to be angry. We are human, and emotions are part of being human. I wish you had a therapist that could have told you that early on.

There are definitely times that our anger is THE appropriate response. Unfortunately, we are often taught to stifle it as unacceptable. Sometimes an injustice needs to be dealt with in order for us to get past it.

Yes, the key is to deal with it as it comes up. Before it turns into rage. Anger is a secondary emotion.

@MST3K Anger is a secondary emotion. The primary emotion is something like frustration, annoyance, irritability, etc. If we can deal with the primary emotion, we won't have to deal with anger or rage.

@Tampabrew I am currently non-monogamous but not in a primary relationship. I like the open-mindedness that is associated with the poly community. And I'd prefer to be in a committed poly relationship rather than primarily non-monogamous. I hope you find what it is you need.

Uncontrolled rage is not power, it is maladaptive and will destroy your relationships. Understanding the anger and healing is where power comes from.

Introverts can be social and outgoing. But yes it takes skill and practice. My job requires me to be the center of attention quite often and I had to get past fears to be good at what I do. Therapy and life experience helps a lot.
