A sad story: Man sentenced in Nevada for looting Native American sites.
This sort of thing makes me sick to my stomach.
That is horrible, think of all the information that was lost, shit. If you want artifacts there are lots of cultivated field where in many places you can collect them because the act of cultivating means that the artifact are no longer insitu and their cultural context has already been destroyed. This reminds my of the shits here who rob and trash the dinosaur dig sites.
Reminds me of a true story (published in Indian times) I read about a new Christian church group on a reservation - -The churchers decided the local heritage center with artifacts such as a peace pipe etc. were satanic so the Christians burned the center to the ground.
Well that makes perfect sense to me. Why didn't I think of it. SMH Christians have tried to erase everything that doesn't suit their dogma.
how is it that digging up graves is very important to athiestics and agnostics?
@seattlepanda, We have morals??
Not every category is required to be atheistic related only.
This is a site where non believers congregate to discuss all manner of subjects without the hassle of religion
The biggest pothunters of Mimbres prehistoric ruins in southern New Mexico has been elders in he Morman church. These individuals have made millions either for themselves of for the Morman Church. Entire prehistoric villages have been wiped off the face of the Earth in search of looted prehistoric pottery.
A year and a day for desecrating and DESTROYING a Native Heritage Site, what kind of sick justice is that?
Mongrel Bastards like that deserve no less than 10 years in prison with an extra 10 years of Community Service to the peoples whom they have STOLEN from AFTER serving the 10 years of prison time.
