We've had such a dry summer that I haven't seen many timber rattlesnakes. This yearling is the only one I found in a boulder field where I normally find many.

Newly hatched Citheronia regalis larvae: baby hickory horned devils. In 4-6 weeks these tiny babies will be almost 7" long. (L) (Late instar larvae for a little perspective.)
