One more. I found this poor guy in the middle of an active logging site. Fearing for his safety, I found him a new home. It is at a christian retreat/camp, but he doesn't seem to mind being baptised.

Ok, so not all wildlife in Florida exists mainly to bite you, sting you, try to eat you, or get into your cupboards at night and crap all over your dishes....I thought this was pretty cool! florida amphibian rare

Newly hatched Citheronia regalis larvae: baby hickory horned devils. In 4-6 weeks these tiny babies will be almost 7" long. (L) (Late instar larvae for a little perspective.)

I can appreciate pinned specimens, but I really prefer living butterflies. These are the Little Wood Satyr and the Red-Spotted Purple (showing off its namesake spots). I think the RSP is one of our prettiest native species.

I have been trying to take photos of the hummingbirds at my feeder however it has been difficult to get a good photo. They are as curious about me as I am of them.
