The most exciting moths of the night: straight-lined plagodis, dogwood thyatirid, and lettered sphinx. I had 14 lettered sphinxes at my sheet last night. That's the most I've ever seen in one night.

My 9yo son is a master anole wrangler. He has discovered that if you put them on their backs they seem to have a tonic reflex and they become calm and docile.

I have two cats. They are sisters from the same litter. One is oblivious to the rain, her sister, on the other hand, hears thunder and runs out of the yard and hides somewhere ! They couldn't be more different !

Here is a picture of my cilantro blooming earlier this year with a small bee on it. There were several different kind of bees visiting the flowers. I hope someone can identify this one, I had to blow up this picture quite a bit.
