One more. I found this poor guy in the middle of an active logging site. Fearing for his safety, I found him a new home. It is at a christian retreat/camp, but he doesn't seem to mind being baptised.

Where have all the frogs gone? Gone to grenouille, every one. I tried to bring a few to my fish pond. Twenty years ago I could find them stuck in old pools. That was in New Jersey. I'm back in Minnesota now, what's the prognosis?

Some neat bugs from the garden, today: immature katydid, Syrphid fly (that mimics a honeybee), one of the Mason wasps, silver spotted skipper, and tachinid fly.

Last one for the night..... These are two exciting finds from today. The moth is the summer form of one I posted earlier in the year. It's called Scythris sinensis, and it's an Asian invasive (that, fortunately, feeds solely on an invasive plant)....
