My cat saved my family and our house. She woke me up in the middle of the night by pulling my hair and did a Lassie imitation to get me to follow her downstairs to a window where I looked out and saw a 5 men trying to break into our basement. I called 911 and turned on the lights and they ran away.

A few months later, she started crying and throwing herself at the basement door. I opened the door to see that the basement was flooding. I was able to get someone into change out the failed sump pump quickly before it got higher than baseboard.

My Ollie cat checks on anyone sleeping to make sure they’re ok. He sniffs their face to check for breathing and has woken me up when my blood sugar was too low. (I’m diabetic)

Cats know all that. They just choose not to do it. Cats bring hunted gifts to us all the time. Track down a missing person? Have you ever tried to close the bath or bedroom door? Don't tell me the cat hasn't already found your "oregano"!

Cats can also ignore commands in 104 languages, sleep in strange places, and get the family dog in trouble whenever the cat feels like it...

Cats know a lot more words than dogs, they just don't consider commands. Lol

After I reprimand my cat, Zippy, for scratching an upholstered chair, he comes over to me and kisses my nose.
