How true is this?

Yup, poor things are right down to fur & bone.

Poor little starving furry farts!

I read a bit of info about why cats don't like the middle of the bowl empty. It has to do with their whiskers. The farther down they have to reach, the more the sides irritate their whiskers. ? Maybe. I have oblong shaped dishes that are supposed to interfere less with the whiskers.

I don't think that is true. I have heard that if you trim a cat's whiskers, it will throw them off balance. Not true.

I use a wide bowl.

I use a plate.

I use a plate that is meant to hold a turkey. (For three cats) It works perfectly and they never give me a hard time until there is only a little hard kibble left - then they let me know about it!

They do however wake me at dawn for their wet food. (As per our written agreement).

This is my Lucky if she can see even the slightest bit of bottom of the bowl. 😂

I keep the bag of cat food open so they can easily get at it. They do from time to time, but they MAKE me put it in the bowl! Little furry farts!

@TheGreatShadow It's part of the agreement paragraph 9 section 2.... you have to put it into a bowl or on a plate for the furry farts. (Otherwise a revenge scheme may be hatched).

@RavenCT That explains why the little one has clawed me in the ass when dead asleep! Not a fun way to wake up! She also clawed me in the pecker once when I was dead ass asleep! NOT FUN! Natural instinct was to swing, and I didn't mean to hurt her. Another time I had severe stomach pain (I ended up going to the ER). She jumps on my chest all the time when I am sleeping. This time she jumped on my stomach! That hurt!

@TheGreatShadow When they aim for the breadbasket it's rough! They seem to treat it like a springboard sometimes.

As for the rest - I've been lucky - but sometimes as they're settle in to sleep around me it can get a bit "prickly" with the claws. lol I don't think it's deliberate - they just forget we don't have fur. So they figure they aren't going to hit actual skin.

Plus they may have mistaken you for "sheet mice" - you know like they do toes and fingers sometimes.... lol

@RavenCT Tommi would think my tummy was a spring board. When I would sleep she would jump from the ground onto my stomach, and jump off in a fraction of a second. Would keep on doing that until I get up. She also figured out how to turn on the lights when I was sleeping.

I miss her. 😟

@TheGreatShadow Mine learned to turn off my BiPAP machine! (We managed to duct tape a box over the controls).
The more clever they are the more I love them. And if they're full of spirit? I'm good with that too. 💜

@RavenCT Sneaky little furry farts! I think I mentioned this, but one day I made a TV dinner. I usually don't eat that crap, but they were on sale. After zap frying, I let it cool about 12" from me. I got distracted (probably typing on here) and then I went to eat it. The little turd ate the meat! No veggies. Just the meat. I never heard a thing. I put the dinner in my entertainment stand. I didn't think she would get it. Little fart.

@TheGreatShadow One of my former kitties once took a bite out of a sandwich. He just lost his cool entirely. He was usually very well behaved.
I love that your cat was so selective. 😂

@RavenCT Had something similar happen. I was on the computer eating a bag of chips. I read some dumb article and was like "what"? My right hand dropped by my side with a chip in it. Whilst reading the article, I heard a crunch. Looked down, and the chip and cat were nowhere to be found!

I'm pretty sure that's more applicable to dogs
