I recently had to put my cat of 17 years down, Sam. I’m still struggling after 2 weeks AND my husband of 24 years wants a divorce now too. I’m a total wreck. ?
I can't imagine what and how you fell but, we all have the strength to overcome anything keeping in mind that it doesn't matter how strong the storm is the rain will subside and the sun will break through the clouds. We all send our love to you. Hang in there .
Hi CherylLynn, don't let all of the negative feelings take over. Talk to friends, maybe go to a ASPCA shelter and look at kittens, maybe adopt a kitten that needs love and a home. We all knew in advance that we'd live longer than they do and seventeen years is a good life span. Don't feel sorry for that. I miss all my past companion cats too. They're running around in my head all the time. I was with my wife for over twenty years before we split too. It takes a while to get used to feeling good to be by myself again, but it is good.

Hey! So sad! The grief process is important (for the cat and marriage) so start by sharing with people who you love and who love you. Then the most important and often the hardest is to think of yourself. We all have tragic events in life, the trick is to use them as new beginnings. Hang in there!
I'm so sorry for your troubles. Get a good lawyer, make sure you are protected legally. If he wants a divorce make sure you get what is due to you. You can be amicable, and reasonable, but protect your assets.
Damned straight. Take care of yourself.
I am sorry for your situation & loss. I lost Tula this year but then out of no where Pachuco & Zoot Suit appeared on my property sent by the gods to ease the pain. I always have more than one pet as when their passing occurs, the void is not as intense. Transitioning to a life without a beloved is difficult but the pain will eventually lessen. Although a beloved can never be replaced another in need of a home is waiting for you. Regarding the husband I can only say that for me life is better without one. Another chapter is beginning for you. I hope you can evolve to embrace the new path you are about to embark upon. Accept it in a positive manner & seek help if you need it. Help is available & the stigma is much less than in the past. FB has a bereavement site called Pet Loss & Recovery which also helped me vent my anguish. Heal soon.
Good advice kindly delivered.
Sorry to hear about both. Just lost one of my cats so I know how that can hurt. & very sorry about the divorce situation. Stay strong!
