A peace group I belong to (faith-based, unfortunately) has periodic educational forums relating to all things social justice, and one year we had a (rare) non-Christian presentation: a Jewish couple who went with a group on a vacation to Iran. They showed us a slideshow and talked about how they were openly wearing kippahs and Star of David necklaces and all and ::gasp:: people didn't hate them! Shocking! And women were required to cover their hair, but they'd push the headscarf back as far as they dared and showed some hair. They're a people yearning to be free.

Yeah I've seen the vomitus Tweets from Chump exhorting the Iranian people to be free, fuck that POS. Too bad we didn't think of that in 1953 when we overthrew Time's Man of the Year (no less) to install the brutal Shah, who in turn was a pearl next to the asshole they have now. Sucks when revolutions go wrong.
