However, I do know that the Senate is also voting on judges, and like UrsiMajor says below, we only get to vote on the judges we like when Democrats control the Senate. This is probably why Biden is putting up with Manchin and his big fat ego.

I'm kinda embarrassed that I had to rely on more-experienced sources than myself to follow this trail of clues to why Manchin is being tolerated for now, but here we are:
