If I was working there and someone walked in an took something off the shelf and walked out the door, I would not stop them. I am not getting paid for running security along with all the other jobs. Fred Meyer went through a strike many years ago, they hired a lot of other non union people to do the work in the store. One could go there and get whatever they wanted and walk out the store with it, they did all the time. What did that cost them? If you want good workers pay them something they can use to live with. Otherwise add a column to your books on theft and security.
