HELP!
Fellow agnostics and atheists,
One of our own is in need of our help. A recent amputee with no family or friends helping, I reached out to the Charlotte Atheists and Agnostics to check on him. One of their members, a social worker, has visited his home and assessed his needs. They are making recommendations for assistance to county agencies. Another is trying to mobilize members to help make the home navigable and safe. They estimate that cleaning, clearing, and mold abatement will cost approximately $1,000 and have started a fundraiser on facebook to help pay for it. They are making arrangements for kitchen faucet repair, so our member can take sponge baths…he cannot shower or bathe at this point. I will be donating and ask all of you to please donate also. Every dollar will help, so if you can only afford $1 please donate. As they see donations, they will allocate CAA funds immediately to remedy the situation. Charlotte Agnostics and Atheists are doing all the legwork on this, but I feel it is very important that we contribute, as the request for help initiated with us and we should support their efforts. We have a lot of members, please let’s make the burden light for all of us!
