So I've been reading about all the election shennanigans going on and I think I have a workable solution but it'll take some work. Go out canvassing people to make sure they're informed and urge them to vote but also encourage people to vote by absentee ballot. No concern about closed polling places or computer "glitches" changing votes. Perhaps a follow up visit scheduled about the time they're mailed out to answer any questions and remind folks to vote and mail their votes out?
Curious about why people do not vote? In particular why they do not vote in local elections which have the most effect on their daily lives.
Partially because of time management /transportation issues. Another problem solved by the absentee ballot. Viting comes to you.
@OpposingOpposum Well yes, but at least here in DC the polling places are open from 6 a.m to really late.
@GreatNani unfortunately that is not true everywhere. In fact in many places, polling stations are being shut down entirely. Operations vary greatly depending on where you are in the country.
I wonder if it is the same reason that people play the lottery when the numbers are really big. Their odds are not as good but the big reward or big guy counts more to them.
Will there still be people left who would be willing to vote?
