Thoughts? [theintercept.com]
I didn't read it all, and I don't really know the facts, but it does ring true about all administrations being guilty of the same. Maybe Trump's brazen admission of the motives can help spur the protests that are long overdue?
I think you're right about how Trump's extremism has made the problems in politics manifest to any who wish to see it. I think it would such a waste of an opportunity for real change if the people just went back to the same old story.
@Looking4-Others Maybe. Is there no hope?
@Looking4-Others For now, I will hold out hope that people smarter than me will find a way to change the system. My sanity depends on it. ?
I'm thinking about principles. What price do we put on them and what does it say about our values. I'm depressed about the West's reluctance to help Asia Bibi too. Trump won't justify placing the value of the life of one man above the relationship with Saudi Arabia. He's quite right from a pragmatic perspective. I would risk it but that might just be the evidence of how ignorant I am about politics.
