This kind of tax inequality has been going on since the American Revolution. George Washington, the largest producer of rye whiskey in America, led 20,000 troops to put down the huge Whiskey Tax Rebellion almost immediately after we and French drove Brits from our shores. Everybody made whiskey or beer because most water was unsafe to drink.
George told rebellious army veterans and farmers (90% of Americans were farmers then) that he had to pay Whiskey Tax, too... But he DIDN'T tell them that large producers like him only paid HALF the tax per gallon as small producers!
