@avron What you said happens in the ideal world when all think what is right. In reality it does not. Candidates with great ideas have evaporated in the American history before. This is not the first time. Idealism has limits although it is great for books and poems.

His TV interview views etc is excitement and curiosity. We are excited about a lot of things and people in life but we do not marry them. Elections have become a choice of passion these days. Liking ideas and choosing the messenger are two different things.

How many people have you seen in real life who said I am against racism, I have friends of all races, I support justice for black Americans but all of their passion stops at their home door steps. The people who they care about don't come inside their kitchens and bedrooms. These people are called socially progressive, not personally progressive. The analogy may be weird to hear but elections are very much similar. People know elections have consequences and they do not want to bet on a horse who will falter.

@avron Give me one example in the last 40 years of an American president has a posture like Bernie's.

@avron When you are passionate about something you will find all contrary advice absurd, unfair etc. That is what teenagers do to parents.

Not really and not only corporations. This is what he covered because is frequently talked about these people:

1. I will stop the same political hacks negotiating trade agreements. I will bring in experts from business
2. Lobbyists
3. Revolving doors for elected politicians to go lobbying and come back in Congress again
4. Term limits of members of Congress

Agree that he has not changed much in 2,3 and 4 but whatever he said got him elected. His speeches resonated with people. Hillary was terribly boring. Trump was dishonest but he hot the right notes. He said he was against Iraq War and Bush was wrong (that won him some democrats), he said he will put terms limits (that got him voters on both sides), he talked about God (when he never went to church before (that got him evangelicals) and he talked about draining the swamp (that got him the most on both sides). His next books is coming on the "Art of Winning Elections' (how to take people for suckers).

So you are telling us we better not back a minority because they are not electable? Sorry, no can do. Plus you are calling opinions facts

@avron Are you assuming all democrats, progressives and independents will vote for Bernie? There have been more polls when asked directly if they would vote for a Jewish, Mormon, Gay candidate and a good number has said no.

I am not telling you anything. The reality on the ground is some demographics are not electable. Most polls you may be talking about are before primaries are over. Wait until the Trump's ruthless campaign machine destroys a democratic candidate every day. I am not willing to bet on an improbable candidate. Electability is far more important in these times.

@avron Do you know how much ammunition Sanders has given to Republicans by saying that? They are going to twist and turn that in every which way to confuse people and make it hard for Sanders to clarify till the election day.

America today is the purest Capitalism that there is. It is uncontrolled capitalism. That is how republicans want to keep it. Just the word 'socialism' is death nail.
