Some accurate data about global inequality. This article challenges the Elephant graph that has been used to explain away inequality. [rwer.wordpress.com]
Sorry, but the data is meaningless alone. Income is not the important figure. Buying power is the crucial figure - how much cash is needed to provide the basics of life (food, clothing, warmth etc). When in India I could buy a large nutricious meal in a non-tourist place for about 2 rupees - about 4 cents - and families eating at home could eat cheaper.
A factory manager in charge of 3000 workers was earning about 3000 rupees/year - he would have a driver handyman cook and cleaner working for his family which I could not afford in England , despite a much larger income.
All about the relative buying power of what you earn
@ToolGuy read it all and understand the super rich gain - but everyone has gained - it all hangs on what your money could buy vs what can be bought now.
I don't care if a few hundred have more money than they can ever spend - but has the life of the many improved? that is the important issue
Reading this makes me so angry at the greed of the super wealthy!
