Demand Medicare for All

I totally agree. I am retired, so I already have Medicare. Many retirees say they preferred the for profit health care option because of the "extra benefits" offered in the private plan option. That reasoning is just plain garbage. Medicare is run through the government and the administrators of Medicare are government employees and do not make the salaries of for profit health care plans that pay their CEO and CFO multi million dollar salaries and bonuses. This difference needs to be made up somewhere and it is in the quality of care, constant need of approvals from the private health plan and the mandatory use of their "network" doctors. Several of my neighbors have been hospitalized and were shocked to discover some of the doctors involve with their hospital stay were not "network doctors" of their insurance plan and their insurance plan does not pay the bill or negotiate on your behalf with medical providers not in their network. I have straight Medicare and love it very much. I had surgery at UCF in Florida last year. The anesthesiologist refused payment from Medicare and demanded higher payment. Medicare went to bat for me. They refused payment unless they accepted the Medicare approved amount. Medicare sent me a letter explaining the circumstances and informed me that I was not responsible for any payment to this provider unless they accepted the agreed Medicare amount for this service and then I would just be responsible for the 20% patient part if and when the provider accepted the approved amount for services. In the letter, Medicare informed me that if the provider tried to bill me for the difference, to just call the customer service line and they would intercede on my behalf. Good luck getting that kind of service from for profit health care plans.
I hope Medicare for all becomes a reality....don't believe the for profit health care bullshit. Just do the math.
It is a pie in the sky. Nobody can deliver it today. We are a divided country. No matter who becomes president, it is almost impossible to pass a legislation with a strong majority in both houses. Taxing the rich will not work. It is a wish in the next 40 years, we are not ready yet.
Obama Care was a much lighter, weaker legislation without public option. See what happened. Tea Party was born and we have been sliding nationwide ever since. It has become a rallying cry for every republican politician, bigger than religion.
We Democrats promise anything without being pragmatic. We cannot get immigration, infrastructure done in the last 25 years and we are promising Medicare For All?
The Democrats....actually any patriotic American....needs to "step up and smell the millennials.
We can be like all the other industrialized nations with universal health coverage or we can be ripped off dumbass suckers for corporate greed.
