I have been reading a book that offers much insight into how and why people are so divided by religion and politics. It is Jonathan Haidt's book, The Righteous Mind. The subtitle introduces the book very well: Why Good People Are Divided By Politics And Religion. I think this is one of the most important books that I have read in a while. I am attaching two links to Ted talks by the author.
