The relation of the U.S. right wing in these years to what's called the American experiment is the same as its relation to Christianity. That is, it has NO relation to the better ideas animating either, or rather it stands in fierce opposition to those ideas, preferring the racist and hyper-tribal elements of both as expressed in a paranoid, vicious, and stupid authoritarianism. What to do in response? Use the weapon of criticism, or criticism by weapon? Well, maybe it's not either/or but rather both/and.
