Famine was basically eradicated from human existence. But the crimes that have been happening in Gaza eradicated that none existence. And we did that. Western governments are currently attempting to bring famine back to Africa today. And that too will be on our hands.
I don't think famine was ever eradicated, the greed of some countries including ours is always getting greedier and greedier. The poor are left dying and being blamed for nothing they did, but that's the narrative people believe and join in the blame, it's so sad and disgusting that we do that to other human beings.
According to Peter Phillips, a Professor of Political Sociology at Sonoma State University, in an interview with Abby Martin claimed approximately 30,000 people die a day around the world of hunger and malnutrition. However, famine is based on a large scale of people in a particular region with various causes. Like genocide, famine and starvation have had a sense of semantics added to it to differentiate the two.
For example we have starvation going on right here in the US everyday. Spread out from region to region, vastly in metropolitan areas. But it isn't in the proportions that would be labeled a famine. Which is why in this time of the 21st century, what's happening in Gaza which is quickly moving into the proportions of being a famine are so profoundly disturbing. Sudan is has now also reached those proportions it is in a state of famine.
A famine is a widespread scarcity of food, caused by several possible factors, including war, natural disasters, crop failure, widespread poverty, an economic catastrophe or government policies. This phenomenon is usually accompanied or followed by regional malnutrition, starvation, epidemic, and increased mortality.
Even NPR had a discussion with a guest last week outlining the conditions of famine. Despite my discontent with NPR on multiple levels as an arm for echoing MSCM talking points, they have made an attempt towards a fairly decent subtle exposure of the crimes going on in Gaza. This guest claimed he was in the middle of writing a book on the eradication of global famine. Then had to flip the writing with the new crimes now being perpetrated in Gaza. Due to growing conflicts again in Africa also, famines are again growing. You can listen to the conversation below if you're interested.
americans had better hope that there is no such thing as karma. bc they are collectively responsible for what their war- mongering govt, which has backed the genocide, does.
