Merriam Webster defines "introversion" several ways.

By the way, does it bother anyone else when introverts are described as "shy"? I'm not shy. I just don't want to be bothered.

Yes! I am not shy...I am annoyed. And I can be quite social, but I don't waste it on people clearly unworthy of my attention.

i like being retired . I no longer have to deal with other people . I do manage to leave the house every few days and have even made a few aquaintances along the way . I know I am a terrible hostess , but do provide the venue for a party hosted jointly by a fabulous hostess , who doesn't have space for this kind o party . That works for both of us .
