I am happy to say I am obligated to go to virtually no functions. If I don't want to go, I don't go. Recently a friend who has been trying to get me to go out to one of their parties, sent me a video of one of them. Her camera pans across the room and zooms in on one friend at a time for 10 seconds, so their dance moves can be recorded. I release nervous persperation just thinking about it. But at least now I know I will never weaken and attend one.

I have to talk on the phone to my two daughters before surgery to say that I love them.. if surgery goes wrong. I have anxiety about it, because part of my emotional issue is believing that I have no purpose and that I am not wanted..part of what makes me an introvert. One good thing is though, that they are both Agnostic..so at least I won't have to hear crap like: "god bless, I will be praying for you, you are in good hands with god.."

I'm an intovert. I don't make plans to hang out with large groups of people.

Welp, I am in AA so I have conditioned myself for a year or so to make "meetings" that I don't really want to attend. It gets easier after a while. I also started attending a freethinker meeting (sans recovery) where I don't know anyone but I figure, it would be nice to meet someone my age I can pal around with once in a while. So there is incentive there. People aren't as friendly as they are in AA but whateves... Good luck!

I've been cracking my head about how to get out of going to this wedding. It looks like I'm gonna stick to my guns and sit this one out. I'd rather be rude and not go than be polite and spend hours of misery and torture with people I don't know and don't like.
