I am sharing this because I found it an interesting choice of words. One of my younger relatives has at long last gotten a job that helps her on her way to professional success. Here is part of what she posted:
"...realizing that perhaps my career actually is in a better spot than I thought it would be last year. All that aggressive enthusiasm and work is paying off, and at last, I've become more optimistic and hopeful."
And this was the exchange that she and I later had:

Me: "Typical introvert description:. "aggressive enthusiasm." Job-related enthusiasm is normal for a lot of people, but for us, it's akin to warfare in that we are battling our inner urges toward solitude and solitary pursuit of happiness."

Her: "That's a very good description. It's a weird phenomenon - I feel less introverted around other (professionals in her field). I wonder if most of them are introverted as well."

Me: " ... For me, it's much harder to interact with people in unstructured situations, where I don't know what to do or what to talk with them about. When you have shared knowledge, it is easier to relate to that person because you have similar expectations re: what to talk about and the subject you are both interested in."

Yep, put on my work persona at work. Totally different elsewhere.

It's all about your comfort zone, once that extends to your immediate social circle and employment area life becomes easier.

I managed to push my comfort zone to include random situations where there's less than 10 or so people in a room, even if they're strangers.

Situations of larger groups of people, even friends and family, I find extremely tiring.

I would tend to agree. I manage 10 people at work and don’t seem introverted while working. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t seem extroverted either.
