I seldom feel uncomfortable being introverted. I often enjoy being at home by myself. If I had to be around extroverted people a lot, I might feel more uncomfortable.

I should add that I do like to get out two or three times a week. Staying in my apartment for days on end gets boring and depressing.

If it’s who you are then learning to live with it is just part of life. I have tinnitus and avoid being antisocial for that reason too. Being around people is supposed to b a natural thing but if you can only handle it when u have a buzz on then for me being alone is just easier.

Being an introvert in and of itself isn't difficult, in my view. What IS difficult is finding that equilibrium point where we are not spending so much time alone that we become lonely and isolated. Finding a way to not cling to solitude so tightly that we dread and avoid ANY type of social interaction, even.with people we LIKE.

It's only hard in relation to the people who think it is a fault and want to change us!

I find it difficult because I'm conflicted. I wish I had the ability to enjoy myself in social situations instead freaking out when I'm invited somewhere and dreading the event. I'd like to just have fun like other people do instead of microanalyzing everything.

It can be but there is also a place that comes with it. I'm not wrapped up in other people's drama and most people stay out of my business.
