As an introvert we are in a minority. Chances are we have all dated an extrovert at some point. Did the difference in personalities put a strain on your relationship?

I don't date , especially since I am asexual . It would be a special challenge to find someone willing to forego sexual relations with me indefinitely .

It's a double-edged sword. Gentle extroverts can help introverts exercise their social muscles and improve their social skills. On the other hand strong extroverts can wear an introvert out very quickly or scare them away completely.

My late wife was very much an extrovert. Singer in a country band, very successful in sales. She was very good for me and helped me come out and be a little more social. I always envied people like that. She's been gone almost 4 years and I find myself closing down again. I live on 5 acres of woods and wouldn't have it any other way.

I was involved with an extrovert but she had so many other problems, one example, it had to revolve around her ,if she was bored and not the center of attention she changed.

I was married to an extrovert for nearly ten years, but it wasn't the difference in personalities that caused our problems, difference in values, perhaps. As far as him being an extrovert, it actually was a decent balance because he could go out in the world as much as he wanted, and it only gave me more of the alone time I needed.

@Shelton That wholly depended on the function. I'd make the effort to go to important ones and he'd not press the issue on the lesser ones.

Oh yes. I suspect I'm better prepared to date an extrovert now that I'm older and a bit more self aware, but it would pose a challenge.
