I used to be a big Tom Clancy fan. When I got my copy of Bear & Dragon, I read it cover to cover, in a single sitting.
1,000 page hardcover, no pictures / just text... and the text size was a point or two smaller than normal.
The main problem with Clancy novels, is that they were pure suspense and once you knew the ending you couldn't re-read it. at least I found them boring the second time I tried to read each one.
