Husband is an extrovert and if it wasn't for him I wouldn't talk to anyone... Anyone else like this?

I talk about that all the time. I am active duty military so we move around a lot. If my wife doesn't find someone or some group to hang out with right away she gets depressed. If I'm "encouraged" to hang out with them, I get depressed.

I like my space and solitude quite a lot of the time, but my tastes in music and film are very specific and not really populist so it can be difficult connecting to people who have things in common with me. I do get lonely at times and it can be difficult getting self motivated. I'm very inquisitive and informed but a lot of people just seem to accept things and don't question much.

My favorite time of the year is when I put on my backpack and hike up into the mountains alone. I'm usually by myself for several days and enjoy it that way. When I am there, I feel that that is who I really am. I'm fine with saying hello to an occasional fellow hiker but I'm happiest if it is a secluded route with few others venturing that way.

Yep, definitely! Except I don't have a husband, so I can spend weeks or months on my own without talking to anyone if I want to. On the odd (usually quite odd) occasion, I have a chat to the cat........ but she won't tolerate more than a few seconds of it 🙂

Gotta love cats! Most are introverted as well it would seem. ?

Was just talking about this, my ex used to talk to more people than I at MY class reunions. Don't go anymore. He got the friends in the divorce too.

I get that. I don't talk to much people that were mutual friends of my ex's either. Even if I grew up with them.

Yes, that happened to me, too. I withdrew from most of our common friends. Just seemed like too much energy to keep connected.
