Question

I have seen a couple of articles on this topic, so some new research must have just come out. The topic is the difference between shyness and introversion. I can't persuade my phone to copy and paste for me, so all I can do is give you a general URL and then you may have to search a little when you get to the magazine website.

I posted about her book the other day. I find all this very helpful.
What I learned from the book which really rings true to me is that from the start introverts are forced to become extroverts. So we can get pretty good at faking it to the point where even friends will think us to be extroverts. For me this was a self permission to be more comfortable with how I really feel.
I think being shy for me is a totally situational thing. I can be outgoing in some cases or sit in the corner at other times.
I suspect t is safe to say that real extroverts do not tend to be shy.
